Blogs are so passe

So the need to post floats up again, mostly via the joy I have been having over the watching of 'A Game of Thrones' and the pain it is to read the forum linked just so and the idiots seemingly infinite ability to whine that the show is not the book, which strangely it is not.

Then again they are probably american, so we should not be surprised... They can celebrate the death of a person, even if that person apparently orchestrated the most evil act known to the western world... and I mean all my qualifiers in that sentence...

Anyway, A Game of Thrones is 3 episodes deep and is doing a very good job at portraying the story, though I would very much like to find someone who has not read the books but who has watched the shows so far to talk to about it to find out how good it really is, or is it just me filling in blanks myself, or being able to read the writing behind the acting or what. Of course the wailing and gnashing of teeth that goes on in the forums is something showing the other side of the opinions of those who have read the books and consider those the most holy of all holy relics, perfection in all they are... The changes that have happened mostly have been done with good reason, though there are a few which I feel could of been done better, and some that upset me but which have to be the way they are due to technical and legal reasons, such as Daenerys not having purple eyes and being 18. The 18 bit more rubs as wrong as the character is meant to be a naive young girl to start with, though the sex scenes pretty much mean she had to be 18. Still doesn't stop her portrayal at the start of the series to be wrong to me.... And the purple eyes are important! Dammit!

Anyway it is only my ramblings....

Long time no write...

I had a thought to write a post here, and so I have, as you can plainly see...

I had a thought about the books that are in my mind in an attempt to get out. I had a thought about Emperor even, where I should change the general background, or at least events happening because of Lucas' rule where I will move him from being a good ruler, to a tantrum throwing party boy (though no so out in the open) whose rule is basically sending the country backwards, though it is hard to tell because of the good state it was in at the end of his fathers rule. Which will change some of the peoples real alignments, though not necessarily their apparent alignments or methods. I may even look to find my old writing and change a few things... I might even put it up on google documents for people who care to take note.... not that i am likely to write too much... I think I have noted before that I am not exactly a writer, just someone who sometimes wishes he was...
